IN SĪTŪ: our first collection with House of CODA
Designed by Stephen Lasker and made in Java, IN SĪTŪ is the first collection from Stephen and House of CODA. It debuts at WestEdge Design Fair in Santa Monica, 29–31 October 2026.

Named for where it lives
In situ is Latin for “in its original place”, and it’s the test Stephen set for every piece: it should look like it has always been in the room. We pictured the collection in four houses: a canyon house in California, a villa in Europe, a mountain lodge and a house on the coast.

Two studios, one collection
House of CODA brings its upholstery and its reach with American designers and showrooms. Stephen Lasker brings the design.

In the room, CODA’s upholstered pieces take the lead, and Stephen’s tables, lighting and wall works give it its character: pieces that hold their own alone and work as a set.

The collection took shape over the summer, in drawings and room plans sent back and forth between the two teams. The stand alone went through five concepts, from a carved passage to a minimal monolith.

Made in Java
Like everything we make, IN SĪTŪ is made in Java, from Stephen’s drawings to the finished piece.
